Canadian Rockies International Airport | Cranbrook, British Columbia
The Kootenay Rockies are now a lot more accessible. Cranbrook's International Airport, also known as the Canadian Rockies International Airport, opened to international arrivals as of August 15th 2007. With full operation of the upgrades, Kimberley has become one of the closest ski resorts to an international airport worldwide.
Currently both Air Canada Jazz and Mountain Air service Calgary and Vancouver from Cranbrook and West Jet is being courted by the city of Cranbrook for ski season flights. Flights landing 15 minutes away make Willow Vistas, Trickle Creek Condos, Mountain Spirit and Kimberley Alpine Resort an attractive vacation spot where ever you are coming from.
An agreement has been reached with Delta Airlines to provide non-stop international service between Canadian Rockies International Airport and Salt Lake City, Utah. The two hour trip between Cranbrook and Salt Lake City will enable East Kootenay residents to connect seamlessly to Delta flights anywhere in the world while at the same time, open massive new markets for regional tourism products. Flights begin December 17, 2008.
